Our work in Nicaragua focuses on the rural communities of Goyena and Trolio outside Leόn. We work with community leaders there to improve education, develop youth leadership and work on economic sustainability and environmental issues. Our goal is to create an environmentally sustainable, economically self-sufficient, active community that is empowered to continue to improve their quality of life.

In New Haven, we coordinate volunteer committees that support projects in New Haven and in Leon. As part of our social justice mission, the impact of climate change on rural communities and on New Haven has become an urgent concern and we now work with the New Haven Climate Movement, the New Haven Healthy City/Healthy Climate Challenge (HCC), and created the Nicaragua Carbon Offset Fund to fund clean cook stove installations in Nicaragua.
